New approaches for the valorisation of URBAN bulky waste into high added value RECycled products

Duration: 01.06.2016 – 30.11.2019

URBANREC will implement an eco-innovative and integral bulky waste management system (enhancing prevention and reuse, improving logistics and allowing new waste treatments to obtain high added value recycled products) and demonstrate its effectiveness in different EU regions, including a roadmap to improve Eco-efficiency on European waste management & Pro-active standardization strategy.

IZNAB role in the project:
  • Assessment of economic performance of enhanced Waste Managementr System and resulting Secondary Products
  • Estimation of replication of the introdcued technologies in four different sites (Belgium, Spain, Poland and Turkey)
  • Material stream flow analysis
  • Exploitation management - market study of obtained products, managing IP of the obtained results and preparation of Business Plan Development

Indeal Project

Innovative Technology for District Heating and Cooling

Duration: 01.06.2016 – 30.11.2019

InDeal will offer an innovative platform that will impose a fairly distribution of heat and cold among the network’s buildings. The target of InDeal is to turn the current district heating and cooling (DHC) into a new next-level automated systems that will guarantee the increase of the overall energy efficiency of the system accomplishing a fairly distribution of heating and cooling energy demands.

IZNAB role in the project:
  • Dissemination managemant – coordination of advertising and promotion of InDeal in press, the Internet and events (conferences and fairs), coordination of scientific publications of the project’s results
  • Exploitation managemant - market study of obtained products, preparation of Business Plan Development
  • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA/LCCA) for InDeal solutions
  • Development of Training Modules
  • System specification and design of DHC


INNOvative pre-fabbricated components including different Waste construction materials reducing building Energy and minimising Environmental impacts

01.10.2016 – 30.09.2020

InnoWEE will offer an optimized reuse of Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) materials producing high add value prefabricated insulating and radiating panels to be used in energy efficient buildings.

IZNAB role in the project:
  • Dissemination managemant – coordination of promotion of InDeal in media and events (conferences and fairs), coordination of scientific publications, and organization of workshops
  • Training and Educational program for Stakeholders
  • Exploitation, risk and IPR managemant - market analysis, preparation of business plan, creation and update of risk management plan, coordination of patent protection
  • Identification of EU standards and regulations related to production of secondary raw materials (SRM)
  • Evaluation of environmental and cost performance during the whole life cycle


Smart building retrofiting complemented by solar assisted heat pumps integrated within a self correcting intelligent building energy management system

Duration: 01.10.2016 – 30.09.2020

Heat4Cool proposes an innovative, efficient and cost-effective solution to optimize the integration of a set of rehabilitation systems in order to meet the net-zero energy standards. The project develops, integrates and demonstrates an easy to install and highly energy efficient solution for building retrofitting that begins from the Heat4Cool advanced decision‑making tool (which addresses the building and district characteristics) and leads to the optimal solutions.

IZNAB role in the project:
  • Life Cycle Analysis of the implemented technologies
  • Full consultancy considering Polish legislation, standardization protocols regarding building retrofitting
  • Design and implementation of the project’s solution at Polish demo-site
  • Retrofitting plan for the demo-site with pre- and post-retrofitting Energy audits
